I greatly appreciate and value my clients and it is crucial that all are treated fairly. Please know that the policies I have in place are to ensure that everyone knows what to expect from my services and that there is transparency. Protecting my clients, their pets and myself is important. My policies are also in place to respect the fact that I cannot get back time that has already been booked – especially when cancellations happen last minute. Thank you in advance for your awareness and cooperation.
Payment options include cash, Zelle, and check. Please note that I have a returned check fee of $70. Individual services payment is due the day of the service. Multiple day/extended care, Vacation Care and Overnight Care require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. Holiday care and the day before and after the holiday require a 100% non-refundable deposit. Please understand that although pet care is in high demand during the holiday seasons, booking a new or alternate client in such little time can be quite a challenge. Full refunds will be issued if services is no longer needed due to a client or a client’s pet becoming gravely ill, passing away, or if I must cancel the service for reasons on my end.
Services that are booked for holidays will have an additional $15 fee per visit. The holidays that this fee will be applied to are: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
An additional $10 per visit will be added onto services that are booked on the day before and the day after the following holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day.
In order to ensure the safety of the pet, walks will not occur when lightning, dangerous winds, heavy rain, or extreme temperatures are present. In lieu of the walk due to such circumstances, the client may either opt to credit their payment towards a walk on a different day or have the service changed to indoor or backyard play with the pet care provider during the planned walk time for the duration of what the walk was scheduled to be.
In the event that you are unable to return home when planned, extending the number of days that you need care can likely be accommodated. Please communicate such needs as soon as possible. If you return early and home visits or overnight care is taking place, you will still be required to pay for the services that you had scheduled for your pet’s care. Please understand that scheduling another client in your place is not possible with such little time to plan.
If a client needs to cancel a service within 12 hours of a dog walk, pet transport, or individual home visit, they will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. The client understands and agrees that if they need to cancel within 48 hours of an extended stay service (meaning live-in care, overnight or vacation care,) they will be charged a 50% cancellation fee (deposit).
Home visits and pet walking will be scheduled according to time of day. Morning visits are between 7am to 10am. Midday visits will be from 11am to 2pm. Afternoon visits span from 2pm to 5pm. Nighttime visits will range from 5pm to 7pm. The general schedule is subject to change as needed and will be communicated to clients in advance as well as via social media sites.
To ensure the well-being and safety of the pets, there are minimum requirements for visits where the client is gone for multiple days (vacation care.) Cats will need a minimum of one visit a day. Dogs will require at least two visits a day. Puppies require at least three visits a day (aged one year or less.) This applies even if the pet has a dog door. Pictures and/or a video of the pet will be shared with the client.
There are three options regarding house keys. The first option is to provide me with a copy during the initial meet and greet. The key will be kept on file with me unless or until it is requested to be returned to the client. The key will be tagged discreetly – not with the client’s address nor phone number, and kept locked up in a safe. The second option is to keep a house key secured in a lockbox on your property for me to use when I am tending to your pet. I would need to get the code and know the location of the box. The third option is to have me pick-up and/or return the key to your residence. (It is $30 per trip – $30 to get the key from you and $30 to return it to you.) Key exchanges will not take place at my residence nor any other location besides the client’s home. If a locksmith needs to be hired to get into the residence, the client will be required to pay the fee.
